January 2018
We had great fun making and tasting different foods from around the world. We celebrated Chinese New Year and we discussed whether we liked or disliked the foods we tasted.
Here we are making Pizzas that are traditional to Italy.
February
We did loads of work on feeding the birds. We made sure the birds had enough food available to them before Storm Emma hit Ireland.
Every week we make sure the birds have enough food to eat.
We also did loads of group work and had lovely group discussions. We discussed what clothes a male and female might wear. We identified all our favourite items of clothing and did an activity on what clothing we would bring with us when going on our holidays.
March
We continued with our ASDAN work. We discussed and learnt about the different types of toilets that we can use when out in the community.
We learned what the different signs look like for them and which one we would use.
April
Also this term we have been enjoying our extra curricular activity which is horse riding.
May 2018
We have been making the most of the beautiful weather we have had over the last few weeks. We have enjoyed some lovely nature walks.
We have also had to opportunity to plant our own seeds and we have been taking responsibility each day to make sure they are well watered.
We went on a lovely trip to a local garden centre and Rory was so nice to walk us around the centre and tell us loads of important information about the plants that they had there. We explored the poly tunnels and got to smells a range of different flowers and plants.
June 2018
We enjoyed a wonderful trip to Loughkey forest park. We enjoyed the canopy walk and an educated walk around the grounds of the old manor house. We had a lovely guide who told us loads of information about the Loughkey grounds. After our tour we had a fabulous lunch out in the Hestors in Castlerea. It was a very successful day and we all made some lovely memories.
