Class 2 is made up of 5 pupils; Amelia, Anne Marie, Caoimhe, Hadia and Liam. We have been working very hard this year so keep an eye out for a monthly snapshot of our work!
January
We read the story ‘Handa’s Surprise’. We learned all about the different fruits in Handa’s basket. We decided to go to our local Centra with a shopping list to pick out and pay for the fruits for Handa’s basket
Caoimhe had a bright red apple on her list.
Hadia had a big juicy orange on her shopping list.
We really enjoyed creating our ‘Handa’s Surprise’ display, with trees made with rice and bushes made with pop-corn!
February
We have been practising turn-taking skills and playing together.
For our theme ‘Around the World’ we chose to work on Poland.
We painted flags, listened to Chopin and tasted traditional Polish foods: Pierogi, kraft and for desert delicious, karpatka.
March
During this month we have learned all about Spring. We all painted and decorated new chicks hatching, lambs being born, daffodils growing and hedgehogs coming out of their big sleep!
April
Caoimhe and Liam ran a great race at the St. Oliver’s Special School Fun Run!
Hadia was first to use the new wheelchair swing in the park!
Liam and Hadia enjoyed a treat at the new park bench!
We made yummy pancakes for Pancake Tuesday!
