Welcome to Class 2.
In Class 2 there are six wonderful children. Lisa is the teacher and Kathleen, Trish and Caroline are the SNA’s.
June
June has been a very busy month in our class. We went on our school tour to Sensory Me in Roscommon.
We took part in drumming lessons and played junk art instruments.
May
Our theme this month is animals. We are doing lots of animal themed art and craft!
Our Sensory story is called “That’s not my dog”. We are touching lots of different textures, looking at animal pictures and listening to different animal sounds.
April
This month we did lovely Easter themed art using crepe paper.
Look what we found on our Easter egg hunt!
March
We have had a fabulous month in Class 2. Rory comes to the school every week for a yoga lesson.
We did fantastic sensory art with Fillida.
We even prepared a potted plant for Mother’s day.
February
Love is in the air in Class 2!
We made cards and treats for our parents.
January
Our theme this month is accommodation. We have been looking at different types of homes.
We made our own houses.
We really enjoyed a sensory story about different types of accommodation.
December
It’s Christmas time!
November
Our theme this month is Fairy tales. We loved “The Three Little Pigs” sensory story. We listened to the pigs “oink” and the wolf bark. We even felt the straw house, the wooden house and the house made of bricks. We did lots of sequencing activities with this story.
The Three Billy Goats Gruff was a big hit in our class. We all worked together to make the “clip, clop, clip, clop” of the goats and the scary noises of the angry troll. We used our story to work on our sequencing and retelling skills too.
Our final Fairy tale of the month is Goldilocks and the three bears. We counted the bears, the bowls, the chairs and the tables.
October
We celebrated two birthdays and Halloween this month.
September
We have started Numicon in our class. Numicon is a multi sensory maths teaching program. We learn through seeing and feeling the numbers.
We are working on our colours too. We can identify the colours and sort them into sets. These activities also improve our fine motor skills.
