Class 1 18-19

Welcome to Class 1 where we have 6 wonderful children. Jamie and Dylan return from last year and Kyle, Saoirse, Lilly and Brajan join us. They have already had a busy month and keep an eye on our webpage for updates of our progress.

We have had a busy month celebrating the birthdays of Dylan, Kyle, Brajan and Lilly. Our school tour to Sensory Me in Roscommon was a huge success and we can’t wait to go back.

April

Happy Easter Everyone. Another busy month playing in our gross motor area. Phillida our creative arts associate visited and did a workshop on “colour”. Our story this month is Incy Wincy Spider and we even made our own.

March

We are still moving here in Class 1 with our new stepping stones. We went on a Bear Hunt to celebrate World Book Day. We had a visit to the local library for story time where we get to sing songs, listen to stories, play with toys and colour pictures.

February

Happy Valentines Day. We made lovely Valentines Say cards for our Mommy’s and Daddy’s. Our theme this month is Lets get moving so we have been doing lots of exercise balancing on the balance beam, using the scooter board and practicing our throwing skills. We have also been practicing our cutting skills

January

Welcome back after Christmas. Our theme this month is Accommodations. We have looked at our houses and their shapes. We have been working on the letters c and e and listening to some lovely animal sounds. We listened to the Gruffalo Story and we made rice crispy buns.

Happy Christmas everyone. We are so happy here in class one as Yoga has started with Rory. We have also been doing our own exercises with our new trampoline and tunnel

 

November

Hope you all enjoyed your midterm. We continue to work hard here in Class 1. This month our theme is fairy tales and we have cover The Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood. The weather has been fine so we spent sometime outside chasing bubbles. We have been learning lots of letters and numbers too and practicing our sounds.

October

Happy Halloween everybody! We have done some lovely Halloween art and being exploring our pumpkin. We can’t wait for our Halloween assembly party on Friday when we get our holidays for midterm.

We have also been enjoying trips to Go Bananas where we play on the slide, in the tunnel and with the balls.

We have been working very hard on our tabletop work, making jigsaws, pegboards, counting and sorting colours.

September

September has been a busy month of settling in. We try to go for a walk everyday where we collect leaves and we have been painting them and making art with them. We also did some sensory play with shaving foam and we made towers from blocks. Our songs of the month has been Head Shoulders Knees and Toes and Old Mac Donald. We have been reading our book My Five Senses while we listen, see, taste and touch lots of different items. We have also returned to Go Bananas which is great fun.
